From The Reverend Debra Kissinger

To my brothers and sisters in Christ in the Episcopal
Diocese of Maine, greetings from the “Christmas
City,” Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

I enjoy music and play the flute and oboe for
relaxation. On a quiet
winter night you may find me curled up by the fireside with a good book
or playing sudoku. For
exercise I figure skate, swim and ski.

This past summer my daughter by adoption, Emma-Li and
I visited Independence Hall and the Liberty Bell, and spent time at
Chinese Culture Camp in
Vermont
to learn about the culture of her birth place.
Emma-Li is excited about the prospect of moving to Maine.
In the summer of 2006 we explored
Maine’s rocky coast, camped inland, feasted on
lobster, and ate more blueberries than we should probably admit.
We visited Acadia and even rode an elephant at York Beach’s
Wild Kingdom!

My passion to connect and help others connect God’s
Story within our daily lives arose in a small parish in Philadelphia.
That passion led me to seek further training in congregational
development and transformational ministries.
These areas of expertise have kept me close to the heart beat of
our great church found in parishes large and small.

When not working with clergy and laity around the
Diocese of Bethlehem I worship at St. Anne’s Church in Trexlertown.
I am truly humbled and honored to be one of your nominees for
bishop of Maine.
I look forward to meeting you at the Presentation of the
Candidates.
