The Reverend Canon Stephen Lane

Picture of Steve Lane

The Rev. Canon Stephen Lane is Canon for Deployment and Ministry Development in the Diocese of Rochester, New York, where he has responsibilities for formation, ordination and deployment of clergy, as well as social justice issues and the Safe Church training program.  Ordained in 1978, Steve has served the Church in upstate New York in a number of congregations and diocesan staff roles.  In addition, Steve served for six years as a member of the Executive Council of the Episcopal Church.  Steve has a deep appreciation of the challenges facing a church that is becoming a church of smaller congregations with multicultural opportunities.  He received his BA from the University of Rochester, New York, and a Master of Divinity from Colgate-Rochester, Bexley Hall, Crozer Seminaries, also in Rochester.   A fan of folk music, we may have the chance to hear Steve's guitar in folk festivals here in Maine.
